Baking and Hula-ing

Brynne baked Cranberry Muffins yesterday as part of her baking class that she is enrolled in. (That's with MOM as the instructor). Yesterday she attempted to bake them all by herself. She only needed to ask me a few questions for clarification - but otherwise did a really great job. After muffins, on to other items that she has selected to learn how to bake. This class is part of our Adult Skills Curriculum that Josh and I have put together. We think it's important that our kids come out of family life with some pretty basic cooking, baking, cleaning, and maintenance skills. These classes are geared for them to be done between the ages of 8-16 (some things involved car maintenance) - but most can be accomplished by age 12 or so. The kids can enroll in a class at any time. Each class has graduation requirements and some sort of reward or celebration for graduating.

Here she is letting Logan be her assistant baker.

Someone doesn't much like cracking eggs!!

ACK!!! What happened to this one?

It had two yokes (we learned we probably should have taken
one yolk out - the muffins didn't work too well with double the egg yolk).

And as for the Hula-Hoop....Logan received this as a birthday present from our friend Kari. It's pretty funny to watch the kids attempt to Hula-Hoop. (we won't even talk about my efforts....it's been MUCH too long, I can tell you that!)
