Josh got his new toy (post below) and we've been enjoying it. He's still waiting for one more cable before he can set it up at his office. It's way better than the theater. Comfortable. With potty breaks (or snack breaks). And we can rewind if we didn't catch something. And WAY cheaper than a big screen TV would cost. I think he may have convinced me that this would be the way to go when our TV breaks. I hate having a TV in my living room and this needs a shelf for the projector, and a large space of blank wall for the picture to show on. We've been taking down on of the paintings on our wall, and then putting it up when the movie is over!
I had a prenatal visit this past week. The baby kicked the doctor's ultrasound monitor. That was cute. Brynne and Kenna went with me. Kenna was very popular as the nurse and doctor, of course, did my prenatal care for her. I think they don't usually get to see the babies they help bring into the world.
Hannah has new apparatus in her mouth. She has a lingual arch along the inside bottom of her teeth. This will hopefully prevent her from needing braces in the future and allow her teeth to re-shuffle a bit and straighten out on their own. She should have enough room once she loses some teeth that are close to coming out. She was sore for a few days, and talked funny. But I've noticed that the lispiness is fading and she's not using her wax anymore (to soften rough spots on the bands). And of course, now we're well into a majorly expensive project - orthodontia. Yikes!
Logan and Brynne were on their own for school - for the most part. Although I made sure we covered the basics. But mommy was busy working on making phone calls for the Prop 8 campaign. I have about 3 hours of calling left to finish up this week and then I can turn in all my papers. I've been getting some very interesting responses from people! Some people have been super nice - others quite grouchy. I've learned two things: I would hate to do cold-calling for a living, and it's important to be polite (but firm). I don't expect everyone to have time or interest in my phone call, but politeness is always appreciated!
Today, Monday is the autumnal equinox. Did ya know?
So one of the photos is of my newly refinished front door. Doesn't it look fabulous? The handyman who our landlord hires to do quite a bit of stuff around here, Ridge, spent three days on it. The first two days I had to have the door completely off while he sanded the wood and polished the copper. Then we had two weeks of gray weather. Finally, last week, we had one day of sunshine so Ridge scooted over and applied the stain. I think he'd like to do a second coat. Anyway, I'm really pleased with how the door turned out!

And the last photo here is of Kenna, who is quickly becoming quite adept at stair climbing. I'm looking at gates...but having a hard time deciding what to do. I will probably order one today and hopefully get it by the end of the week or early next week. I've got to really watch that kid right now. She thinks it's quite fun to see what Mommy's got stacked on the stairs.

And that's our family for the past week!

I recognize Kenna's outfit! She looks darling. I know what you mean about stairs. We don't have many. but the one we do Jackie thinks she gets to go down like a big kid. No more sliding down on the belly for her! Why do kids have to grow up?
I haven't let Asher venture past the 1st stair at our house, but he's far from adept yet. We're officially a gaited stairway ourselves. Yay*
