Tomatoes, Anyone?

This is an addendum to my previous post.
On Wednesday we were given three very large boxes of tomatoes. I may have mentioned that. We have managed to deal with one box. Josh took one box and gave a bunch to the the guys at priesthood session on Saturday. We have one box left.

They are very ripe! Yummy! Need to be eaten! Come get some! I don't know if we can use them all in time (I don't have the necessary equipment for canning) and I really don't have the freezer space. (As an aside, did you know that you can freeze whole, peeled tomatoes for use in soups and sauces?)

On Friday we introduced Logan to a French card game I played growing up called "Mille Bornes". In the game you collect mileage cards and try to get to 1000 miles. There are ways to slow down your opponents through the use of hazard cards (out of gas, flat tire, speed limit, etc) and there are remedies for these hazards. Logan LOVES this game. He's even started playing it by himself since we don't all have the energy for yet another round of Mille Bornes. I think it's a fun way for my kids to practice adding two and three digit numbers in their heads.
