Off with a Bang!

Brynne had her first two soccer games on Saturday.

She played well. She's so cute on the field. She tends to dance with the ball. She really looks like a ballerina. She will be quite good when she stops playing prettily and starts being a little more aggressive.

Our team scored two points in the second game. Compared to last year (one point all season) we are doing fabulous! We lost the first game by 1 point, tied the second game. I think actually scoring gave the girls a huge psychological boost. They played so much better after they scored that first point. Besides the scoring, there were lots of injuries - both teams were playing their second game of the day and I think that led to sloppy playing. Luckily, I don't think we have any more double-headers this season.

On other news. Natalie had her six month check-up. She weighed in at 15lb, 25-inches tall. She is starting to sit up independently. I still put a little something behind her because she will fall over after awhile - but she will sit up for a good 10+ minutes before falling. She is also pushing up onto her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. I love to watch her play. She is at the stage where she is testing every toy to see if it makes noise when she shakes it. She refuses to eat baby food. Logan was like that. For example, I have sweet potato baby food which she will not eat. But last night for dinner we had roasted sweet potatoes and she ate two pieces! I mashed them up and gave her chunks off my finger. Yummy! I also made chicken soup from scratch and she thought the broth was pretty tasty, too.

I think everyone who was sick before is pretty much over their cold...except Josh - who finally has a cold! I don't think he'll be as sick as the rest of us. It's already not quite as severe.

I survived my busy week last week. It was crazy, but fun. I got my first box of produce from our CSA. We're working our way through it. Yum! One of the things I purchased were red onions. Onions don't grow that big in the fog zone. But to make up for size, the farm gave me quantity. And boy were they yummy! We roasted those with our potatoes last night.
