These past few weeks have been big reading weeks for all of us.
Hannah is whipping her way through the Harry Potter books - her first time reading them all. She's on book 6 today and almost done. I've been having her write reports on the books as she goes. Not exactly what she wants to do, of course. :-)
Brynne is reading Fablehaven in her spare time. It's a really fun book and I hope she's liking it. Funnily enough, my kids have a lot less reading time when they are in school - even with required 20 minutes of reading time as homework! Soccer is going well. Brynne loves it and I love the chance to get out in the fresh air and do something different for a change.
Logan is still reading the Boxcar children. He's also been reading assorted library books and school books. We finally had rain. Logan in particular is enjoying it...he begs to go outside with the umbrella. Fine by me! Keeps him from bouncing off the walls! He's doing a great job on his schoolwork lately, too!
I've been reading lots of books: 2 for bookclubs, plus a handful of fun books for me. The most recent fun book was "The Westing Game" Very fun mystery book that I haven't read in awhile. I've got a to-read stack that includes the authors D.E. Stevenson, Shannon Hale, and Jessica Day George. All three some of my newer favorite authors!
Today Hannah made tortillas all on her own! Which is saying something because I've only made them once and I wasn't that wonderful at it. She used THIS recipe, and I think watching the video is what gave her such confidence to just Do It! It was great! We're going to have them for dinner.
I had to include some photos of my cute kids. I haven't gotten the camera out in a long time. I can't believe how fast time is flying. Kenna's hair is getting thicker. Natalie is so much more mobile. Not crawling yet, but rolling around, rocking back and forth on her hands and knees, and sitting up so well! She has been practicing feeding herself cheerio halves, grated cheese, and anything else I'll let her attempt. She's not awesome at eating the chunks yet - some things still gag her - but she's making great progress!
