Doughy

So tonight Josh and Logan are at the Father/Son campout. Josh told Logan this morning that he would only work in the morning and they would leave after lunch. Just to tell you how excited Logan was about this trip, he had his clothes ready to pack before I was even OUT OF BED this morning (and I was up by 6am). So you can imagine that he was getting pretty antsy when 1pm rolled around and Josh still wasn't home. Finally at 1:30 I called the office just to get an ETA. Katie, his dear office assistant, told me that Josh had been completely swamped this morning with both work and Church stuff, but he was on his way. Poor guy. I'm sure those two are having a great time. I love how excited Logan gets to spend time with his dad. They are at the new Church camp near Gualala, officially titled Camp Liahona-Redwoods I believe.

Meanwhile, I figured us girls should have a little fun, too! I sent the older girls swimming with their friends, and Kari and I grabbed Papa Murphys and settled down to watch a movie. But dang it, that pizza just wouldn't cook! After 40 minutes, my 15 minute pizza only had toasted cheese and the dough was still totally uncooked. I figured out that the bottom burner has died. Honestly, I'm not surprised. My oven has been horrible since I moved in and I've been hoping for a new one. I was just bummed to have to wait even longer for dinner tonight! And I was really looking forward to pizza!
We decided to order from the local place, D'Aurelio's (anyone who comes to visit - we should grab some....it's yummy!), pick up the girls, and finally have dinner 90 minutes late. Poor starving little family. I guess next week Josh and I can run to Sears and get a new oven. Maybe we'll get one that has four burners and can boil water! That would be new! I can't believe I've lived with this piece of junk for so long!

On other topics...have you all watched "The Blind Side"? I re-watched it tonight. One of the things I think about when I watch that movie is what it means to be a Christian - and I wonder what sort of Christian am I? Do I even notice the promptings of the Spirit and follow through - even if it makes me step out of my comfort zone? All too often I think not. But that movie motivates me to do better. Plus, it's just a funny, sweet little show and a good way to pass the time while you wait for your dinner to be ready!

It's been a long week. Not much schooling has been going on due to some high-maintenance company. BUT, we enjoyed a lovely trip to the Botanical Gardens with my new membership. So awesome! Thanks Josh!
