12th Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HANNAH- BANANA!

Today I was thinking back on the day Hannah was born. Not only is it Hannah's birthday, but it's the anniversary of her Uncle Sean's funeral service that same day 12 years ago. There were a lot of strong emotions going on in all our hearts that day. One thing I know, is that God answered some prayers of mine as I delivered my first child. Her birth was one of the most memorable in a lot of ways - particularly in some of it's spiritual aspects. It was one of the days in my life when I most strongly felt God's love for me as he buoyed me up and helped me through the challenge of laboring alone all day, and then heading to the hospital with someone other than my husband. It wasn't a tremendous challenge, all things considered. Other people have had stranger or more difficult labors and deliveries, for sure. I know that. But the fact remains that God was with me that day and I'm grateful for the beautiful experience I had bringing Hannah into this world.

Hannah is a good kid. I feel really, really blessed to have her. She is an example for me of honesty, obedience with exactness, modesty, and service. She has a good heart and a loving way about her. She's funny and kind, and is a good friend. One of the things that I love about Hannah is that I can depend on her. If I suggest to her some small service she could do for another child, she is always willing to do it. She often finds her own ways to serve others.

I remember that day so well because I was at Sean's funeral. I was thinking of you, knowing that it would be a hard time to not have Josh with you. I also thought how hard it must have been for Josh to want to be in 2 places at once. I even remember him going out to get to a phone.
I'm glad that you had a wonderful, spiritual experience that helped you get through labor and delivery!
And Happy Birthday, Hannah!
