Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins...and eating pumpkin cookies

Self-portrait...see the resemblance?

She likes pumpkin guts!

The pumpkin looks like he's been sick recently.

It's been awhile since we had time to carve pumpkins with the kids.  We now have four sitting on our front stairs, getting wrinkled and mushy.  yum.  I read about a way to keep your pumpkins from growing fuzzy, but we didn't try it.  After carving, wipe down the exposed surfaces with disinfectant or rubbing alcohol to kill bacteria.  Then coat those surfaces with vaseline to protect them.

My kids are not going trick or treating tonight.  We had "trunk or treat" at the church parking lot on Friday night and I really don't see a need for more candy.  If we have time, we'll watch a family movie and let the kids gorge on candy (one night and it's gone - then I no longer have to hear the "can I have a piece of candy" question ten times a day from the little kids).  We try to keep most sugar out of the house, so I'd rather not have it hanging around tempting us all, anyway.

Your kids look so grown up to me! I can't believe how fast they change. Cute pictures!
