I'm just way behind on this blog.

Natalie solemnly told me today that she's going to grow up.  And get married.  And have a baby.  She clarified the get married part and have a baby part several times.  I told her having a baby and being a mommy and a wife was a very exciting thing!  She smiled.  At least she's planning on growing up first.

That convo prompted Kenna to tell me that she's going to marry Logan and he will be her husband.  Which makes perfect sense.  After all, he's the second coolest guy she knows - but the first one is already married.  I remember when Logan was four and was in love with his Aunt Sarah.  I guess this age is the perfect age to fall in love for the first time.

I sent my older two girls to their grandma R.'s house for the weekend.  It was a surprise with one hour for them to finish their chores, pack, and go.  They were pretty excited.  I have had just the three younger kids this afternoon and we've had so much fun.  We watched Peter Pan (the real person movie - not the Disney version) and then of course we had to pretend to fly.  Logan was Peter Pan, Kenna was Wendy, and Natalie was a perfect Tink.  They ran in circles around the family room.  My job was to try to smack their bottoms as they went by.  Does that mean I was Hook?

Then we set up the small tent and Logan and Kenna got ready for a camp-out.  I put Natalie to bed and didn't tell her Kenna got to camp.  I'm such a mean mommy.  Maybe tomorrow night.  And they watched Narnia.  A movie full night, I guess.  Not something we usually do.  But hey, it's so cold and rainy it seemed perfect for snuggling up together.

Hannah has memorized 31 decimals of pi.  She's trying to win a competition in her science class.   Awesome.  They also had to come up with a list of words made out of element symbols (from the periodic table).  She has almost 200 words.  Crazy.  Apparently, she likes doing things like this.

The kids are back from Odyssey.  I forgot to give you the updates!  Brynne's team is advancing to state!  They placed second.  Hannah's team is NOT advancing.  Honestly, I think they were too burned out from last year - and many of them were too busy.  They hardly worked on their project and seemed somewhat unenthusiastic about it.  They did, however, have a wonderful time hanging out for six months.  So...that's perfectly fine with me.    Hopefully after Brynne competes at State we will be FINISHED!  I already made plans for Memorial Day weekend (when World Competition is held) so I better not have to cancel them!

Sooooo.....Did I forget to post about
Natalie's Birthday?
Ack!  Bad Mom!

Ahem.  The expertly frosted cake.

The birthday fairy came while she was asleep and decorated our house!

Josh takes surreptitious pictures of me when he thinks I'm not looking.
I caught him this time.  Silly boy.

Everyone has to get in on the fun.

Natalie trying out her new barrettes.

Look how her little blonde hairs are growing out.  So sad!

We kept things really quiet and simple.  Just our family.  But it was a really fun day.  Can't believe she's three now!  She is such a loving kid.  We all get a lot of "I Love You's" and kisses from her every day.  She's funny.  She likes to sing and dance more than any kids I've had.  We love having this girl in our family!
