Autumn Joys

Hannah and I went to the homecoming game together.  I think I mentioned that in an earlier post, but I forgot to put up the pictures I posted.

Hannah and I cuddling up to stay warm!!

The high school choir preparing to sing the National Anthem.  The really amazing thing about this is that three years ago the high school choir had only 9 students and was a relatively new class (after being cut due to funding issues a few years prior).  Because of an enthusiastic district music teacher, choir is alive and well in FB schools again!
Another interesting thing about this photo is that you can see part of our school's stadium. I remember running track on this field back before there was a stadium.  They apparently broke ground on the new one just weeks after I ran here as a Senior.  ABC news was there filming to do a story about the incredible community effort that has gone into building this stadium.  We have a stadium valued at over $15,000,000 that was built for only $1,500,000.  I found out they are still raising money for the last thing to install - an all-weather track.  AWESOME!

Josh and I had a great birthday weekend.  Lucky for us, it was also a rare not-booked-to-the-gills weekend.
We spent Josh's birthday co-celebrating with some friends in our ward who were also celebrating a birthday (cake and ice cream with them).

On Saturday we skipped our chores and spent the afternoon watching the BYU game online.  Go Cougs!!  We had breakfast for dinner - one of Josh's favorite meals.

On Sunday Josh made me waffles and buttermilk syrup for breakfast.  Yum!

Our birthday gift to each other was a portable gas BBQ (and I bought my own gift - a new flat iron!!)

I have a thing about odd numbers - I don't like them.  So this year, being an odd numbered birthday, was hard for me.  I like the symmetry of even numbers or something.  But at least there is something cool in 33  - it is a repeating number so I can live with that.  35 is a multiple of 5, which I like.  But 31, 37, and 39 (and similar numbers in other decades) are always hard for me to like.  Strange?

Last week's art project - apple printing/painting.

Today we are cleaning out the garage and re-doing our 72-hour kits!!

No, not strange at all! I can't stand odd numbers either. How do you deal with have an odd number of children?
