Be a Perfect Parent in Just Five Days

Ok.  So that's a lie.  It takes six.

I found a great parenting blog today as I was looking for something else.  I had to stop and read a bit.  And then tell Josh what I read.  And then share with you.

http://ourmothersdaughters.blogspot.com/  You can read one of my favorite posts that I read today.  And go on from there.  If you scroll through and look to the right, eventually you'll see lists of posts that revolve around certain topics.  I'm going there next.  Soon as I find the time.

In other news.  Certain friends and sisters will be interested to know that I did Week 5, Day 1 of the Couch to 5K program today.    Slow but steady progress seems to be working for me.  My knee only bothered me twice last week and not at all this week.  I slowed down my running pace, too.  Josh and I have been at the gym four mornings a week.  Sadly, it's closing at the end of next week so we'll have to figure out our next plan.  We are getting up at 5:30am.  It hurts, but it's necessary.

Josh's birthday is tomorrow.  We're celebrating rather low-key this year.  We bought ourselves a shared present - so no surprises - a new BBQ.  A gas one, this time.  Exciting stuff!

I tried two new recipes yesterday, an apple cream pie and a maple buttermilk pie.  After I've tasted them, if they turn out nice, I'll link the recipe.  I also tried a new piecrust recipe that I have my doubts about.  It's fall.  I had apples.  I couldn't think of anything better to do.  (ha, ha, ha - right).

I'm learning great parenting lessons these days.  Like how to stay out of my child's business and let her sink or swim.  It's hard for me.  I'm such a control-freak.  But I'm managing to keep my mouth shut.  In the meantime, my eldest is learning some valuable time-management skills.

Natalie has been SO cute lately...listening to music and dancing.   We just love watching her.  I tried to take pictures of all the kids yesterday (thus the black and whites scattered through the post) but one didn't turn out.  Poor Brynne.
