Marching Forth

It's been quite a month.  First...is anyone else tired of the RAIN?  I am grateful to have a drought averted.  Don't get me wrong.  But I'm looking forward to a little sunshine now after a month of near-constant showers.

Brynne's Odyssey team on their way to State
Brynne's team had their state competition on March 31st.  They did really well.  Not going on to world, but we are proud of them nonetheless.  That white thing in their hands in the photo above...is the "Helping Peeled Potato".  Silly.

With Devon and Ben at the Botanical Gardens.
Devon and Ben came to visit for a few days.  It rained every day that they were here except one - so we snuck over to our favorite place to enjoy some sun.   We ended up sitting in the veggie garden (they have Adirondack chairs scattered around) soaking up some of those gorgeous rays!  It felt SO nice!!!

Look!  Shadows!

my baby sister who thinks she's old enough to be married and have a kid.  Crazy.

Chef Benjamin performing kitchen surgery.
While visiting, Ben got fancy and baked us a "pake" which we used to celebrate Brynne's birthday with some of the young women at our mid-week activity.  She's 12!!  She can go to Young Women now!!

Here is our "pake".  Spice cake with an apple pie filling.  Tasty!
We enjoyed a lovely Conference weekend in Ukiah.  Josh's parents were kind enough to host us (and watch the kids while Josh and I took Brynne to her Odyssey Competition on Saturday).  We're really grateful we live so close to them - not only because we love spending time with them, but because it comes in so handy when we need some childcare!  Living by parents/grandparents is the BEST!

We are getting ready to celebrate Logan's birthday on Easter.  If it's not one party around our house, it's another.
