Funny little story...
When we got back into town last weekend we had a message on our voicemail from someone in the ward. Here's what he said, generally:
"Hi Josh and Kelly. This is ______. Just wanted to let you know about a high priest dinner and a movie activity we're having on Friday night. So we'd like to ask if you could, I guess that will probably be Kelly, bring a main dish."
So that's the gist of the message.
We showed up tonight with a large bowl of spaghetti and meatballs (yum!). I was looking around the room and I realized...there are no other women here. Really? How did I miss that this was just for the men? I think when he said that *I* was probably going to be the one doing the cooking I assumed that I was also invited. He didn't say the MEN were having an activity.
I think Josh and I figured it out right about the same time. After a quick whispered conference in the corner of the room which consisted of me saying multiple times how dumb I felt, and Josh telling me repeatedly not to leave, I said I was going to eat in the kitchen (since I was already holding a plate of food). Which I did. And then I walked home. ;-)
Funny.
Never assume you know what's going on when the priesthood are planning an activity!!! And what's with a boys only date-night on a Friday? ;-)
